SMPLR

What is smplr?

Smplr is a simple start page. It was developed by Nik at scarylittlemonkey.com.

How do I use it?

Smplr uses "triggers" to fire off search queries or to launch a website. By default, your queries will go to google. Triggers are a small bit of text (usually 1 to 3 characters) that, when appended with a colon, preface your search queries. To search for smplr at yahoo, you only need to type "y: smplr" and press enter. To open a url, google for instance, type "go: google.com" or "go: http://google.com". For a full list of triggers that smplr recognizes, check the legend by clicking the tab at the bottom of the main screen.

Just a few notes: Smplr does not support the use of Internet Explorer 6, and will not function properly on it. Smplr requires javascript and a CSS/XHTML standards capable browser. Smplr does not monitor your activities nor does it retain any information on you, all search queries are passed immediately through to their final destination. Two cookies are stored on your computer, one to ensure that the background you selected is displayed to you when you return, the other to remember whether you have the legend open or not.
